It is known by several names, depending on the manufacturer, but the idea is the same. How BabyMatch Works
Immediately after birth, tags are issued to both mother and baby. The baby's tag is worn on the ankle and is not removed until the baby is released from the hospital. |

The baby's tag is electronically paired to its mother's tag, enabling the mother to simply press her tag to activate a match test and confirm that she is with the correct infant.
|

| BabyMatch monitors the infant's whereabouts in real-time and generates an alert when an attempt is made to tamper with the tag, the baby is moved through an exit without an authorized escort, or if the baby is missing (i.e., the tag cannot be detected). |
